In keeping with the county’s reform plan adopted in May 2011, the new Adams County Transparency Portal on the county’s website was developed to bring better visibility, openness and accountability to the taxpayers of Adams County. Sunshine Review, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to government transparency. released the names of the winners of the third annual Sunny Awards on March 8, 2011. Adams County Report to the Public 

The Board of County Commissioners recognizes that to fully represent Adams County’s interests during state and national-level policy debates on issues that impact local government, there must be a level of participation in Denver and in Washington, D.C. As such the county has retained a contract lobbyist to help represent the county's interests in economic development, natural resources, human services, public lands, transportation and public safety. Johnson Consulting has been retained as the county's state lobbyists for the 2012 legislative session. Marshall Brachman has been retained as the county’s lobbyist in Washington, D.C.

By state law, all those who lobby on behalf of Adams County must file income and expenditures reports with the Secretary of State.

Adams County is a member of the National Association of Counties (NACo), the only national organization that represents county governments before the Administration and Congress.

Adams County is also a member of Colorado Counties, Inc., the state association representing Colorado counties at the state capitol.

What is Open Adams?

Open Adams is a way to collaborate, communicate, and improve government standards in Adams County. We are proud to serve the residents of Adams County and deliver expected services through the wise, judicious, and ethical use of Adams County resources and taxes; and by improving accountability, best practice, integrity and transparency of government and its processes for all Adams County.

Reform Resolutions
The Board of Commissioners adopted seven reform resolutions in public hearing on May 25, 2011. These resolutions are designed to eliminate waste and prevent corruption.
