Adams County and Platte Valley Medical Center have partnered to open a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Adams County Government Center Conference Center, 4430 S. Adams County Pkwy., Brighton.
The clinic is open by appointment only, to those age 70 and over. No walk-ins will be accepted. Pre-registration is required. Information on the registration process is provided below.
“We know vaccines from the Federal Government are in short supply right now, but we are very optimistic supplies will increase soon. We want to make sure as soon as we get a vaccine, we get that vaccine to someone who needs it, and we couldn’t do that without strong partners like Platte Valley,” said Emma Pinter, Adams County Commissioner and Board Chair. “This is a critical step in getting our community healthy, keeping our hospitals from being overwhelmed, and getting our economy back on track.”
Adams County and Platte Valley Medical Center are committed to equity and prioritizing getting everyone eligible in the community access to a vaccination, especially those communities who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.
"Over the past several weeks, we've begun to vaccinate our staff, providers, and first responders,” said John Hicks, President and CEO, Platte Valley Medical Center. “We are thrilled to now offer this vital public health service to those aged 70 and over, per state guidelines. We appreciate our partners at Adams County who have generously supplied us with additional space and resources."
Hours of Operation
Hours of operation will be variable based on the amount of vaccine received. Please check carefully at the time of scheduling and just prior to your appointment to confirm the current hours of operation. If vaccine supply is available, the standard hours of operation will be:
Thursday – Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – noon, 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Registration
Vaccination appointments may be self-scheduled through MyChart. Instructions for registration are attached.
Patients may also fill out the online form at sclhealth.org/CoVidVaccine to be notified when a vaccine appointment is available for them. Appointments will only be available for individuals who are eligible for vaccination based on state guidelines, and outreach will be randomized and equitable.
“Vaccine distribution is our priority and coming together as a community and partnering with Platte Valley and other local organizations will help us get as many vaccines to our residents as possible, especially our most vulnerable populations,” said Raymond Gonzales, Adams County Manager. “Adams County will continue doing its part to ensure the vaccines are distributed to as many people as possible, as soon as possible.”
Vaccine supply is managed by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Platte Valley is in constant communication with CDPHE to determine how much vaccine they can anticipate each week and will open vaccination appointments accordingly. It’s anticipated appointments will fill up quickly. More appointments will open each week as additional shipments of the vaccine are received. Adams County Health Department (ACHD) Supports Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment’s Recent Action to Protect Clean Air for All
Today, the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) announced the largest state enforcement package against a single facility for air pollution violations to Suncor refinery in Commerce City. Suncor must pay at least $10.5 million toward penalties and projects due to air pollution violations from July 2019 through June 2021. This action is a step toward holding Suncor more accountable for past violations and requires the refinery to take steps to prevent future violations.

Adams County, VOA Colorado, DRCOG, and Senior Hub Seek Volunteers to Deliver Meals to Older Adults
The nonprofit Senior Hub recently reported it was running out of funds to continue supporting its Meals on Wheels program in Adams County. To ensure Senior Hub’s existing clients continue to receive meal delivery services, Adams County has partnered with Senior Hub, Volunteers of America Colorado (VOA Colorado), and Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) to fund emergency meals while a long-term strategy is developed to continue these services for older adults into the new year.

Governor Polis Orders Flags to Fly Half Staff to Honor Justice Sandra Day O’Connor

Adams County Commissioners Award More Than $8 Million in Open Space Grants
On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) awarded more than $8 million in open space grants for 16 projects thanks to the voter-approved Open Space Sales Tax. Funding for the fall 2023 grant cycle came from revenues from the first half of the 2023 Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, which was passed by Adams County voters in 1999, and in perpetuity in 2020.

Adams County Celebrates National Adoption Day
On Thursday, Nov. 16, 18 children in Adams County welcomed a new start on National Adoption Day. A special celebration took place at the Adams County Justice Center, 1100 Judicial Center Dr., Brighton.
The Board of County Commissioners, Human Services Department, and the 17th Judicial District hosted the adoptive families. Adams County projects a total of 130 adoptions will be finalized by the end of the year.
