CDOT Construction Update - Region 1 Curb Ramps

CDOT and contractor, Noraa Concrete Construction Corporation are replacing 118 curb ramps and making public right of way improvements across Region 1 to meet new Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance guidelines and to support CDOT's four-year $85 million statewide initiative. The new ramps are wider, sloped for easier access, and finished with a slip-resistant texture to maximize public safety in all weather conditions.

This project is part of CDOT’s four-year, $85 million statewide initiative to upgrade curb ramps to meet new ADA compliance guidelines. The replacement or upgrade of curb ramps at key intersections constitutes major infrastructure improvements across the region, and will increase the safety, accessibility, and accommodation of residents, patrons of businesses, and visitors. Full access to private driveways and businesses is being maintained during the period of construction. The upgraded ramps are wider, sloped for easier access by the public, and finished with a slip-resistant texture to maximize public safety.

CDOT Curb Ramp ProjectSite locations of the curb ramp replacements are numerous and extend across Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, and Jefferson counties.

This project began on August 5 and is expected to be complete before Thanksgiving. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekend or observed holiday work is expected. Schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
