More Than $1 Million in Scholarships Awarded to County Students
Sixty-four Adams County high school students were awarded scholarships totaling more than $1 million on Wednesday, May 24, through the Adams County Scholarship Fund. Adams County Commissioners introduced the Scholarship Fund in 2016 in partnership with the Colorado Department of Higher Education's Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative.

Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training
NOTICE: Suncor Emergency Response Team will be conducting live fire training on Thursday, May 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The live fire training will be conducted at the Plant 1 Fire Training grounds. During the training, there will likely be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all ERT training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded. The Adams County Transportation Department will host its annual series of neighborhood cleanup events in the coming weeks. Residents are encouraged to bring yard waste and other debris to the locations below.

The Adams County Household Chemical Waste Roundup will be held on Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., at Water World, 8801 N. Pecos St., Federal Heights. Tri-County Health Department is organizing the roundup in partnership with the county’s Office of Sustainability.
