Dawn Aerospace, a Netherlands-, New Zealand-and U.S.-based space transportation company, has been selected by Blue Canyon Technologies to provide turnkey chemical propulsion systems for the X-SAT Saturn satellite bus. Dawn Aerospace is an Adams County partner with Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP). Adams County and Dawn signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June 2021 detailing the partnership, and representatives from Dawn visited CASP in April. By partnering with CASP and establishing a base in Adams County, Dawn’s contract with Blue Canyon will be a boost to the Colorado and United States aerospace market.

Adams County Commissioners Award More Than $21 Million in Open Space Grants
On Tuesday, July 9, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) awarded more than $21 million in open space grants for 24 projects thanks to the voter-approved Open Space Sales Tax. Funding for the spring 2024 grant cycle came from revenues from the second half of the 2023 Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, which was passed by Adams County voters in 1999, and in perpetuity in 2020.
Adams County Students Awarded More Than $1 Million in Scholarships
Fifty-seven Adams County high school students were awarded scholarships totaling more than $1 million on Wednesday, June 26, through the Adams County Scholarship Fund. Adams County Commissioners introduced the Scholarship Fund in 2016, in partnership with the Colorado Department of Higher Education’s Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative.

Colorado Air and Space Port Adds New Deicing Equipment for More Effective Winter Weather Servicing
Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP), which is owned and operated by Adams County, has added additional deicing capabilities to its services with the new arrival of Polar Aircraft Deicer’s Arctic Fox. CASP employees will complete a comprehensive training and certification program on aircraft deicing and follow strict protocol to operate the new equipment.
