  • “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest for Adams County Students

    The Adams County Elections Department is hosting a second “I Voted” sticker design contest for Adams County students. The first design contest drew nearly 50 entries from students ranging from kindergarten to college level, and four stickers were chosen as winners and featured in the 2019 and 2020 elections.

    In addition, a new Spanish category has been introduced this year. The winning design of this category will be available at in-person voting locations throughout the 2021 and 2022 elections.

  • Large-scale Vaccination Clinic to Open at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

    Governor Jared Polis announced today a large-scale vaccination clinic will open at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City in the coming weeks. The site will eventually ramp up to administer 5,000 to 6,000 vaccinations daily, as supply allows. Ball Arena in Denver will also have a vaccination clinic in the coming weeks.   • Historic Splendid Valley: Preserving Farmland in Adams County and Brighton

    We are coming up on five years since the approval of the District Plan, a joint plan adopted in 2016 by Adams County and the City of Brighton focused on the south Brighton agricultural area, now called Historic Splendid Valley. This award-winning plan was put together in response to ongoing public support for preserving valuable farmland and heritage, building on policies laid out in previous land use, and open space plans spanning more than 20 years.

    The many action items in the District Plan fall under one of three overarching goals:

  • Delayed Opening - 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25

    Due to inclement weather, and with the safety of residents and county employees in mind, County Manager Raymond Gonzales has delayed the opening of county buildings until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, including the offices of District Attorney, Justice Center, Probation, and Sheriff. The vaccination clinic at the Government Center will open at 8:30 a.m.

     

  • Adams County Workforce & Business Center Receives Grant Funding

    The Adams County Workforce & Business Center will receive $550,000 from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Technology Employment in Colorado Partnership 2.0 (TEC-P 2.0). The Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) Workforce Services was awarded the $7.38 million grant for 2021-2025.

    DEDO is partnering with other local area workforce programs including Adams, Arapahoe/Douglas, Boulder, Larimer, Tri-County (Jefferson, Gilpin, Clear Creek), and Weld and providing each county with funding.

  • Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor 500,000 Lost to COVID-19

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings statewide until sunset February 26, 2021 to honor the 500,000 Americans lost due to COVID-19.  “As a community, we grieve with the families who have lost a friend, parent or loved one to this deadly virus. As Coloradans, we honor the lives of our fellow Americans and reflect upon the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Passing of Former Rep. Val Vigil

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings statewide for Thursday, February 18, from sunrise to sunset to honor the passing of former Colorado Representative Val Vigil.   

    Rep. Vigil (D-Thorton) served four terms in the Colorado House from 1999 to 2006 and is known for his legacy of promoting higher education opportunities for students across Colorado. Rep. Vigil’s lasting impact on Colorado is his work to pass the ASSET Bill (SB13-033) which grants in-state tuition to undocumented students.
