As part of the Colfax Avenue Intersections Improvements project, crews will close the Colfax Avenue (US 40) ramps to northbound Interstate 225 starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, through Monday morning, Oct. 7. During the weekend, motorists will follow detours routes that add up to 5 minutes and a maximum of 2.75 miles to the commute.

During the ramp closures, motorists can use the following routes:

National Coffee with a Cop Day is Wednesday, Oct. 2. Join the Adams County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 2, 9-11 a.m., for coffee and conversation at Off Broadway Cafe, 6810 Broadway St., Unit E, Denver. Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and  community members together to discuss issues and learn more about each other. 

I-25/I-70 Travel Advisory

The southbound I-25 ramp to eastbound I-70 will be closed during overnight hours for five nights from 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 through Thursday, Oct. 3. The closure is necessary while crews replace bridge joints and make safety improvements. The ramp will reopen by 5:30 a.m. each morning.

NOTICE: Suncor will conduct Fire Extinguisher Training on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Suncor Fire Training Center from 1 - 3 p.m. The training will be performed at the Plant 1 Fire Training Grounds. During the training sessions there will likely be flames and smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded. The eastbound I-76 ramp to northbound I-25 will be closed during overnight hours for three nights from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 through Tuesday, Sept. 24. The closure is necessary while crews replace bridge deck panels and make safety improvements. The ramp will reopen by 5:30 a.m. each morning.

The Adams County Workforce & Business Center (WBC) has three targeted industries that are growing fast and have many in-demand occupations: Construction, Healthcare and Manufacturing.

Notice: Suncor ERT will conduct live fire training on Thursday, Sept. 19, 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Suncor Fire Training Center. During the training there will likely be flames and smoke produced. Adams County Commissioners were joined by representatives from Colorado Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Fiore and Sons Construction, and Republic Services to celebrate the last load of shingles leaving a property near the intersection of Interstate 25 and Interstate 76. More than 112,000 cubic yards of shingles were illegally dumped on this site leading to a long legal battle between the county and the previous owner of the property. The county's efforts to enforce the code violations at this site date back to January 2015.

NOTICE: Suncor's Emergency Response Team will conduct emergency response simulations on the following dates, times, and locations:

• Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019,8 a.m.-4 p.m., Sand Creek, Commerce City
• Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., South Platte River near E. 104^th Avenue, Thornton

During the exercises, an oil containment boom will be deployed as part of simulated release scenarios. No materials will be released into the river. Local stakeholders, regulatory agencies and local government officials have been notified.

DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today ordered flags to be lowered to half staff on all public buildings statewide on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from sunrise to sunset to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. This is also in recognition of Patriot Day, which was designated by Congress in 2001.
