Adams County Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Spaceport Cornwall

Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Kingdom-based Spaceport Cornwall to share resources, operations, knowledge, and launch systems for mutual benefit. The agreement was signed Nov. 8 by Adams County Manager Raymond Gonzales and Spaceport Cornwall Director Miles Carden.

Operation Freebird 2019

In partnership with local businesses, agencies, and individuals, the Adams County Sheriff's Office will host Operation Freebird on Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Denver Mart, 451 E. 58th Ave., Denver. Turkeys and other food items for a Thanksgiving meal will be provided to Adams County residents at no cost to attendees. Every dollar donated is given right back to the community.

Commissioners Award $10.6 Million in Open Space Grants

Today, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) awarded more than $10.6 million in open space grants for 20 projects thanks to the voter-approved Open Space Sales Tax. Funding for this grant cycle came from revenues from the first half of the 2019 Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, which was passed by Adams County voters in 1999.

This year, the Adams County Open Space Sales Tax is celebrating 20 years. Over these years, more than 538 projects have received funding, totaling more than $212 million dollars invested into parks and open space across Adams County.

Travel Advisory - E 55th Avenue and Logan Street Closure

Notice:  Adams County and contractor Noraa Concrete Construction Corporation will close access to E 55th Avenue and Logan Street for seven working days from approx. 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 through approx. 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26. The closure is necessary while crews replace curb ramps and make sidewalk and roadway improvements to meet new Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance guidelines and for enhanced public accessibility.
