Attendance Matters in Adams County

Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success. Chronic absence, no matter its cause, has real life consequences for students, families, and society. Research shows chronic absence can leave 3rd graders unable to read proficiently, 6th graders struggling with coursework, and high school students off track for graduation.

Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and on the job.

We encourage you to use the documents, videos, and other tools on this page to spread the word about how Attendance Matters in Adams County.
