Open/AbiertoAdams County announces the debut of its new online Business Registration platform that allows businesses to sign up to receive updates on county resources and other relevant news. The registration is voluntary and open to all businesses located within Adams County to use immediately.

The platform is hosted through Salesforce, an American company focused on customer relationship management using a secure online environment. 1. I have been operating a business in unincorporated Adams County for many years. What is Business Registration and why should I register?
Adams County has created A man standing inside his business.a Business Registration program that allows businesses to sign up to receive updates on county resources and other relevant news. The registration is free, voluntary, and open to all businesses located within Adams County to use immediately. The Colorado General Assembly passed legislation in April 2021 granting counties the authority to develop a registration of businesses within the unincorporated parts of a county. 2. Is the Business Registration the same as a license? Is there a cost? Will this change my taxes? 
The business registration is not a license, and there is no cost associated for a business to register with the county. The registration will have no impact on business or personal taxes.

3. I registered my business with the State. Do I need to register with Adams County?
Yes, it is recommended that you register your business with Adams County through this voluntary system. A State of Colorado business registration is required to operate a business within Colorado and is a separate process. 4. I am licensed through a city or town in Adams County. Do I need to register my business with Adams County?
Yes, it is recommended you also register with the county to receive information important to your business. The registration does not affect, supersede, or replace any other city or town licensing requirements. 9. I am an independent general, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing contractor. Do I need to register?
As a small contracting business operating within Adams County, it is recommended that you register your business with the county to receive information and resources pertinent to your business. However, all contractors doing work in unincorporated Adams County are required to be registered as a contractor before pulling a permit. Additional information can be found here. 10. What are the next steps to take after I register my business with Adams County?
After completing the registration, please allow up to three days for your information to be reviewed and registration completed. You can then update your information and opt in or out of county communications.
