Overview
The Adams County Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts Department (POSCA) is look for diverse and creative individuals who are willing to learn and advance their knowledge in the following fields:
- Parks Administration
- Parks and Trails Maintenance
- Special Event Administration
- Special Event Set Up
- Public Art Administration
- CSU Extension & 4-H
Goals of the internship
- Develop skills in the various areas of work listed above.
- Expand your oral and written communication skills to learn how to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
- Increase your relationship-building skills to understand and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Nurture leadership skills to build strong relationships, create a culture of learning, and recognize and celebrate achievements.
- Develop skills to recognize aspects of work culture and formal and informal networks.
Steps of the internship
- Complete and submit all application forms PRIOR to beginning your internship.
- Perform intern work responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Abide by all policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines of the site while participating in your internship.
- Participate, assist, and observe in a variety of program areas.
- Be prompt, responsible, respectful, and self-motivated during all internship-related activities or work experiences.
- Maintain a mature and professional relationship with clients, staff, and peers.
- Exhibit and practice behaviors as a positive role model for the field and in representation of the school or program.
Internship Information
- Paid internship.
- Eight weeks.
- Part-time or full-time.
- Certificate will be awarded.
- Letter of recommendation provided after the internship is completed successfully.
- Could potentially lead to a permanent position at POSCA.
