Capturing Landscape
Linocut prints by artist Angel Estrada
Exhibition Date: Spring 2022
Landscape is a grand part of human history. Land has been captured, in many senses of the word, throughout human history — in farming, community-building, conflict, and art.
Art is Estrada’s favorite way humans capture the land, and how he chooses to capture it. Everyone that sees a landscape brings their own experience to it; their own memories and relationships. Estrada’s landscapes are abstracted interpretations of the world around him, informed by personal experience.
Estrada’s love for the simplified but still naturalistic marks is evident in his print style. The artist invites you to bring your own memories and experiences to his interpretation of beautiful landscapes.
