Adams County Awards $35 Million in Grants to Local Community Organizations
On Tuesday, April 26, the Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution awarding $35 million in grants to local organizations, nonprofits, school and fire districts, and businesses. The funding for the grants was provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
The county received more than 200 applications totaling more than $163 million in requests. A total of 102 grant applications were funded, representing 70 entities, with 13 organizations receiving two or more grants. Grants range from $1,000 to $1.8 million. The grants must be used for COVID-19 response and recovery efforts in the Adams County community.
“Supporting these organizations is essential in helping those hit hardest recover from the effects of COVID-19,” said Lynn Baca, Chair of the Adams County Board of Commissioners. “We are thankful to these organizations who will use this funding to provide services to our residents, whether that’s hosting additional vaccination clinics in underserved communities or reestablishing a small business to provide needed services within the community.”
