County to Participate in National Point in Time Count to Assist Those Experiencing Homelessness
From sundown on Monday, Jan. 29, through sundown on Tuesday, Jan. 30, Adams County will conduct the Point in Time (PIT) count, the annual count of persons experiencing homelessness.

Like so many of our residents, we watched and prayed for a different outcome as our courageous Adams County Deputies responded to an assault call on Wednesday evening. We are devastated by the loss of Deputy Heath Gumm who was killed while protecting our Adams County community. Deputy Gumm, 31, served honorably with the Sheriff’s Office since 2012.
Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm
Updated — Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings immediately until sunset on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, which is the day of the funeral to honor Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy Heath Gumm.
Gumm, 31, was shot in the line of duty yesterday. He died from injuries sustained while responding to a disturbance call in Adams County. Gumm has been with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office since 2012.
He is survived by his wife and family.
Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Sergeant First Class Mihail Golin
Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, in honor of Sergeant First Class Mihail Golin.
Golin, 34, died in the line of duty on Jan. 1, 2018, of injuries sustained from small arms fire while on dismounted patrol in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. Golin was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.
He is survived by his parents and daughter.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office has received several reports of a jury duty phone scam where callers say there's a warrant for your arrest specifically from the Adams County Sheriff's Office. Please be aware this is a scam as the Adams County Sheriff's Office does not handle jury duty.
Commissioner Mary Hodge Elected Board Chair
The Adams County Board of Commissioners today elected Mary Hodge to serve as board chair for 2018. This election marks Commissioner Hodge’s first term in the role of Chair of the Board of County Commissioners. Hodge, who represents District 5, was first elected to the Colorado State House District 30 in 2000. Commissioner Hodge served eight years in the House, followed by two terms in the Senate, representing District 25.
Traffic Advisory: Closures to I-25 Off-Ramps to 136th Ave. and Northwest Parkway/E-470
As part of the North I-25 Express Lanes: 120th Avenue to Northwest Parkway/E-470 project, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor partner, Hamon Infrastructure, will require an overnight northbound I-25 off-ramp closure to 136th Ave. and Northwest Parkway/E-470 in order to install a safety-critical barrier.

DENVER — Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, from sunrise until sunset to honor Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Zackari Parrish as he is laid to rest.
