Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Late Senator John McCain
Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 - Gov. John Hickenlooper has updated this morning’s flag order following the President’s proclamation this afternoon. Gov. Hickenlooper now has ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings, until sunset on Sunday Sep. 2, 2018, to honor the late Senator John McCain, and as proclaimed by President Donald Trump.
“John McCain dedicated his life to serving this country,” said Governor John Hickenlooper. “We (and the world) lost an incredible leader. He could never have imagined how much he’ll be missed.”

Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training at Commerce City Refinery
Notice: Suncor ERT will be conducting live fire training daily starting on Tuesday, Aug. 21, through Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Suncor Fire Training Center. The training will happen from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. During the training there will likely be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, we will cease all ERT training and proper alarms will be sounded. Colorado Air and Space Port Granted Site Operator License
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted a site operator license to Colorado Air and Space Port after a 180-day review period, the 11th such license granted in the United States. Colorado Air and Space Port will serve as America’s hub for commercial space transportation, research, and development.
County Granted Spaceport License
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted a site operator license to Adams County after a 180-day review period, the 11th such license granted in the United States. The formal announcement and news conference are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, August 20, at the Government Center in Brighton.
Master Gardener Fall Classes
The Adams County Colorado Master Gardener program is accepting applications for Fall 2018 night classes. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at Crescent Grange, 7901 W. 120th Ave., Broomfield, from Sept. 18–Nov. 29. 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Citizens Academy
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is proud to offer a Citizens Academy to the public each year. The 2018 academy will begin Thursday, Sept. 27 and will be held for eight weeks through Nov. 15, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office at 1000 Judicial Center Drive in Brighton.
