Temporary Shelter Assistance

The Adams County Animal Shelter is currently assisting with sheltering services for Brighton Animal Shelter while their location is impacted by construction in the area. All impounded and/or found animals will now be housed at 10705 Fulton St., Brighton. For questions regarding lost or impounded animals please contact the Adams County Animal Shelter directly at 303.288.3294. Adams County Seeks Public Input on Improving Access and Mobility within County Right-of-Way Facilities

Public Forum on December 15 to share progress on the Countys compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Adams County will host a public forum at the Pete Mirelez Human Services Center on Friday, Dec. 15, 3-4:00 p.m., to share information about upcoming projects and to gather feedback on the County's plan to ensure access and mobility for all users of public rights-of-way owned by Adams County. The Human Services Center is located at 11860 N. Pecos St. in Westminster.

County's CJCC to Hold Forum Addressing Opiate Epidemic

The Adams County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) presents a forum featuring Sam Quinones, award-winning author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic, on Monday, Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m., at the Pete Mirelez Human Services Center, 11860 Pecos St., Westminster.

Adams County Celebrates National Adoption Day

Projects 150 adoptions to be finalized in 2017

Adams County will celebrate National Adoption Day by finalizing 12 adoptions on Friday, Nov. 17, with a special celebration at the Adams County Justice Center, 1100 Judicial Center Dr., Brighton,, from 9 a.m.–noon. The Board of County Commissioners, Human Services Department, and the 17th Judicial District will host the adoptive families for a beach-themed event. Adams County has finalized more than 117 adoptions through October, and projects a total of 150 adoptions to be finalized by the end of the year.
