Adams County Expands Mini-Grant and Small Business Stabilization Programs to Assist with COVID-19 Business Operations

As part of its COVID-19 emergency response and recovery strategy, Adams County, through its Community & Economic Development Department, is expanding its Mini-Grant and Small Business Stabilization programs as the county is required to move to Level 3 on the state’s Safer at Home dial today.

Adams County has created the new Rent/Mortgage Assistance Mini-Grant category, which offers a $5,000 award to help with rent or mortgage expenses for small business locations. Visit the Mini-Grant page of our COVID-19 response and recovery website for more information and to apply to this grant as well as the other Mini-Grants available in the categories of business operations, technology upgrades, compliance issues, and winterizing operations. Mini-Grants are available to eligible businesses until funding is exhausted.

Adams County has also established the Small Business Stabilization Program to provide local businesses with grants up to $35,000 to retain jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants for the Small Business Stabilization Program are paid for by the Community Development Block Grant program and Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus funds, which are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Visit the Small Business Stabilization Program website for eligibility criteria.

“As we continue to face new challenges in moving from Level 2 to Level 3, we hope these additional efforts with our Mini-Grant and Small Business Stabilization programs can provide our business community with the help they need,” said Commissioner Mary Hodge, champion of the Business Support Response & Recovery Team. “The county will continue to look for ways to help our small businesses keep their doors open and retain their employees throughout the duration of this crisis.”
