Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training

NOTICE: Suncor Emergency Response Team will be conducting live fire training on Thursday, July 27, 5-10 p.m. The live fire training will be conducted at the Plant 1 Fire Training grounds. During the training, there will likely be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all ERT training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded. Volunteer at the Adams County Fair

The Adams County Fair is looking for volunteers from Wednesday, Aug. 2–Sunday, Aug. 6, to sell concert merchandise, drive golf carts for guest shuttle services, staff information booths, monitor exhibits, serve as gate attendants, help with Senior Day, sell event tickets, and more.

Level 3 Burn Restriction

Due to the extreme fire conditions, Adams County Sheriff Michael McIntosh has ordered Unincorporated Adams County be placed at a Level 3 Burn Restriction effective immediately. No open burning is allowed until further notice. Those having burn permits issued by the Fire Chief CANNOT burn during Level 3.

Barr Lake Appreciation Day - July 15

Barr Lake State Park will host Lake Appreciation Day from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. The park encourages residents to bring family, friends, groups, and co-workers for volunteer clean-up projects from 8–11 a.m., with a barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by fun activities, including canoe instruction, archery demonstrations, face painting, a jumping castle, boat rides, climbing wall, and more. The state park entry fee is waived for participating volunteers, and RSVP is required.
