The Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution 2019-646 Establishing Office Closures for 2020. The county will observe 12 scheduled closures, and employees will have an additional Floating Holiday, in 2020. All government offices will be closed on the 12 noted closure dates.
Tree Branch Drop Off
From Monday, Sept. 19 – Sunday Sept. 25, Adams County residents can drop off tree branches at Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton. Enter the park at the roundabout on Henderson Rd., go north, and follow the signs to the drop off location. Branches are accepted between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 25. This service is available to residents and may not be used by commercial landscapers or businesses.

Adams County Board of Health Appoints First-Ever Executive Director of Adams County Health Department
On Thursday, Sept. 1, the Adams County Board of Health appointed Dr. Kelly Weidenbach as the first Executive Director of the newly formed Adams County Health Department (ACHD). She had been serving as the Transition Director since February of this year.

Westminster Public Schools Approved to Serve as Local Coordinating Organization for Adams County
Adams County, in partnership with Westminster Public Schools, is proud to announce Westminster Public Schools has been approved to act as a Local Coordinating Organization (LCO) for Adams County and provide universal pre-K and support in the early childhood development sector. The new Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) approved the application earlier this week.

Adams County will host approximately 3,000 attendees for the NACo annual conference at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center July 20 – 24.

Riverdale Animal Shelter Free Adoption Event
Riverdale Animal Shelter, like many shelters in the Denver Metro area, has been taking in a higher number of animals this year. To help more adoptable pets at their shelter find loving homes, adoption fees will be waived for pets six months and older Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2.
