The Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution 2024-544 Establishing Holidays for 2025. The county will observe 12 holiday closures and employees will have an additional Floating Holiday. All government offices will be closed on the 12 noted holidays.
Children and Family Services Awarded Seals of Recognition
The Adams County Children and Family Services Division, under the Human Services Department, was awarded two seals from the Human Rights Campaign. These are the You Are Welcome Here seal, which certifies the division as an LGBTQ welcoming and affirming agency, and the Recognized Innovator in Supporting and Serving LGBTQ Youth & Families seal, the highest level of recognition available in 2019.
New Medical Assistant Apprentice Program
Adams County Workforce & Business Center is pleased to support the partnership with Arapahoe Community College and HealthONE in announcing a NEW 12-month Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program starting September 2019. Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training
Notice: Suncor ERT will conduct live fire training on Thursday, June 27, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Suncor Fire Training Center. During the training there will likely be flames and smoke produced. Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Former Colorado Legislator Tilman Bishop
DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis ordered the United States and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, to honor former Colorado legislator Tilman Bishop. Bishop served 28 years in the Colorado legislature. Bishop passed on Sunday, June 16, 2019 in Grand Junction. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Colorado State Patrol Trooper Killed in the Line of Duty
June 15, 2019 - Gov. Jared Polis ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings immediately, until sunset on the day of the memorial service, to honor Colorado State Trooper William Moden.
Services for Moden are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Denver First Church at 3800 E. Hampden Ave. in Englewood. It is open to the public.
Electric Vehicle Charging Station Survey

Pelican Ponds Open Space Grand Opening
Adams County Commissioners, staff, and the Colorado Attorney General celebrated the grand opening of Pelican Ponds Open Space on Thursday, June 6. Pelican Ponds Open Space, located at 9200 Riverdale Rd., Thornton, is a restored, 200-acre property located along the west bank of the South Platte River Trail between 88th Avenue and 96th Avenue in Thornton.
Senior and Disabled Veterans Exemption Programs
Have a parent or friend who is a senior citizen (65+ as of January 1) or a disabled veteran? They may be eligible for property tax exemptions through the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s offices. The programs allow 50% of the first $200,000 of actual property value to be exempted for qualifying individuals. The exempted property tax is then paid by the state. The deadlines are fast approaching: July 1 for disabled veterans and July 15 for senior citizens.

Please visit the FAA National Based Aircraft Inventory website to make sure the registry of your aircraft based location is current as it affects grant funding for Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP). CASP will soon have a form available on our website so you can update your aircraft information with us as well.
