Construction Announcement: Sheridan Blvd. Resurfacing 52nd to 58th Avenues

CDOT

Road improvements and bridge repairs start soon

Starting in mid-September, the Colorado Department of Transportation and Jalisco International Inc. will begin a roadway improvement project on Colorado Highway 95 (Sheridan Boulevard) between 52nd Avenue and 58th Avenue. Work includes curb ramp accessibility improvements, sidewalk replacement, street light installation, traffic signal improvements and an asphalt overlay. This project also includes repairs to the bridge over Clear Creek just north of Interstate 76. Construction will continue through spring 2017.

Motorists should expect lane closures and night work

The project will be completed in phases in order to minimize traffic impacts. In mid-September, crews will implement daytime single lane closures on northbound Sheridan Boulevard to reconstruct curb ramps and perform traffic signal work. Non-essential lane closures will be lifted during peak travel hours to reduce traffic impacts. Crews will also work nights to perform repairs on the bridge over Clear Creek. Starting in late September, motorists should expect closure of multiple lanes for overnight bridge work.

Overnight asphalt milling and paving work is anticipated to begin in October along with extensive bridge deck repairs. Both operations will require traffic pattern changes and traffic shifts in order to complete the work. Visit the project website for the latest schedule information.
