North Pole Gift Shop Organized for Families in Need

North Pole Gift Shop

Over 350 Children Pick Out Holiday Presents Free of Charge

Today, over 120 families are visiting the Adams County Human Services Center to shop for holiday gifts for their children, at no cost to them, thanks to the third annual North Pole Gift Shop.

“During this holiday season, Adams County is inspired by the countless residents who are a reminder that the things we hold sacred unite us all: gratitude, service, and community,” said Board of County Commissioners Chair Lynn Baca. “Looking back at this year, we’ve seen enormous courage, character, and resilience from families all across the county.”

Parents can shop for children aged newborn to 17 and choose gifts from a large selection of toys, clothes, socks, hoodies, and more. This year, children also have the opportunity to shop for a gift for their parent(s) and/or guardian(s), and gift shop attendees can have a family photo taken.

“Regardless the walk of life kids in our community are experiencing, we are thrilled we can bring some magic this holiday season,” said Katie McDougal, Human Services Director. “We are not only inspired by our families, but also our staff and partners who heal, comfort, protect, and serve in ways big and small. This event is a reminder how our differences are precious and our similarities infinite.”

In addition to the gift shop, there is a resource fair featuring Adams County programs and other community resources. The fair is in the main lobby of the Human Services Center and open to all families. A list of participating vendors and sponsors is available on our website at adcogov.org/north-pole-gift-shop.

Hot chocolate and holiday treats, haircuts, and nails services are available for all attendees. Kids crafts and activities such as face painting and a group painting class are also available.

The event is put on in partnership with Adams County community partners A Precious Child and Foster Source, as well as the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Amazon, Servicios de la Raza, and Tiff’s Treats.
