Public Works Department Recognized with Best in Colorado Award
The Adams County Public Works Department received a Best in Colorado award from the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association (CAPA) in February. The department was recognized by the Adams County Board of Commissioners at public hearing today.
“The efforts of our hard-working Public Works staff often go unnoticed, and I’m thrilled they have received this statewide recognition,” said Steve O’Dorisio, chair of the Board of County Commissioners.
The county’s Colorado Boulevard project won CAPA’s Urban Highway Resurfacing award in the 25th annual Best in Colorado Asphalt Pavement Awards Program. Adams County shared the award with Martin Marietta Metro, the paving contractor. Representatives from the Public Works Department were recognized on Feb. 27 at CAPA’s awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Denver Airport Convention Center.
“It’s a great honor to have our staff and their hard work recognized by a statewide agency like CAPA,” said Kristin Sullivan, Interim Director of Public Works. “The department’s goal is to increase productivity and efficiency, and this award underscores our staff’s commitment to public service.”
The Public Works Department is responsible for administering all construction activities within county public rights-of-way as well as maintaining and improving the county's infrastructure, including roadways, bridges, and drainage facilities.
