Notice: Suncor will conduct live fire training at the Commerce City refinery on Thursday, April 6, from approximately 9 a.m .until 4 p.m. The live fire training will be conducted at the Plant 1 Fire Training grounds located on the west side of Brighton Blvd. (towards Burlington Ditch). During the training there will likely be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, Suncor will cease all ERT training and proper alarms will be sounded. Thursday, Feb. 15 - Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings until sunset Feb. 19 to honor the victims of the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., and as proclaimed by President Donald Trump.

Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 —
Gov. John Hickenlooper tonight ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings to honor El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Micah Flick starting tomorrow at sunrise until sunset on Saturday, February 10th, which is day of the funeral services.
Flick, 34, was killed while responding to a motor vehicle theft. Two other deputies, a Colorado Springs police officer and a civilian were injured in the shooting. Flick served the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife and 7-year-old twins.
Twin Lakes Park Closure
Twin Lakes Park will close on Monday, Feb. 5, to undergo renovations. The renovations will last until August when the park will reopen. The Clear Creek Trail, which runs south of Twin Lakes Park, will remain open, however the entire Twin Lakes Park area will be closed. There will be no access to trails, facilities, or the parking lot during this time. Detour signs are in place to direct residents.
Funeral for Fallen Deputy Heath Gumm
The funeral service for Adams County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Heath Gumm has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Flatirons Community Church, 355 W. South Boulder Road, in Lafayette.
County to Participate in National Point in Time Count to Assist Those Experiencing Homelessness
From sundown on Monday, Jan. 29, through sundown on Tuesday, Jan. 30, Adams County will conduct the Point in Time (PIT) count, the annual count of persons experiencing homelessness.
Message from the Adams County Board of Commissioners
Like so many of our residents, we watched and prayed for a different outcome as our courageous Adams County Deputies responded to an assault call on Wednesday evening. We are devastated by the loss of Deputy Heath Gumm who was killed while protecting our Adams County community. Deputy Gumm, 31, served honorably with the Sheriff’s Office since 2012.

Updated — Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings immediately until sunset on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, which is the day of the funeral to honor Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy Heath Gumm.
Gumm, 31, was shot in the line of duty yesterday. He died from injuries sustained while responding to a disturbance call in Adams County. Gumm has been with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office since 2012.
He is survived by his wife and family.
Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Sergeant First Class Mihail Golin
Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, in honor of Sergeant First Class Mihail Golin.
Golin, 34, died in the line of duty on Jan. 1, 2018, of injuries sustained from small arms fire while on dismounted patrol in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. Golin was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.
He is survived by his parents and daughter.
