Work Options Cafe and Culinary Program Opens at Human Services Center
The Adams County Human Services Department is partnering with local nonprofit Work Options to provide a café and free culinary training program for Adams County residents and employees.
Program participants will train with professional chefs, earn certifications, earn up to $400 per month, and complete training in six weeks. There are also food truck internships available as part of the program.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Work Options to utilize our café space in the Human Services Center,” says Adams County Commissioner Emma Pinter. “This is a great opportunity for residents looking to jumpstart a career in the culinary arts.”
Participants in the program will get on-the-job training at the Work Options Café in the Human Services Center, 11860 Pecos St., Westminster. The café is located on the third floor and will provide breakfast and lunch options including pastries, sandwiches, and burgers. The full café menu is available on our website.
“This partnership is a win-win for Adams County,” says Katie Griego, Human Services director. “The café will provide residents with skills to succeed in the culinary industry, and it will provide both residents and Human Services team members with breakfast and lunch options while at our building.”
Classes start every Monday, and program hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Residents who are interested in participating should call 720.660.0159.
Work Options has been serving the community since 1997. Their mission is to help people overcome barriers to employment by building confidence while providing resources and culinary job training.
