Commissioner Eva J. Henry Receives Inclusionary America Award

Adams County Commissioner Eva J. Henry received the Inclusionary America Award presented by Building One America at their annual Leadership Awards presentation Thursday, July 20 in Philadelphia. Commissioner Henry was recognized for her efforts to increase inclusivity for county residents while improving access to affordable housing.

Eastbound I-76 to close at 96th Avenue overnight on Monday

Notice

The Colorado Department of Transportation advised that starting at 10 p.m. on Monday, July 24, crews will temporarily close eastbound Interstate 76 at 96th Avenue to all traffic overnight in order to install an overhead sign structure. All eastbound motorists will be detoured off I-76 at 96th Avenue (exit 11), through the roundabout, and directly back on the highway at the 96th Avenue on-ramp. Eastbound I-76 will reopen by 5 a.m. on Tuesday. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Colorado Master Gardener Fall 2017 Program

The Colorado Master Gardener program in Adams County is accepting applications for fall 2017 evening classes. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6–9 p.m., Sept. 26–Nov. 30. Master Gardeners are part of the outreach program of Colorado State University Extension; a statewide network including Master Gardeners and CSU faculty and staff who provide lifelong educational programs for all Coloradans in their local communities using research-based information.

Emergency Project - 415 E. 58th Ave.

Notice: The Adams County Public Works Department announced they will be removing a collapsing pipe in the right westbound lane of E. 58th Ave. This emergency project is scheduled to begin July 20 and end on Aug. 14.  A variable message board will be placed on the northeast corner of E. 58th Ave. and N.

Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training

NOTICE: Suncor Emergency Response Team will be conducting live fire training on Thursday, July 13, 5-10 p.m. The live fire training will be conducted at the Plant 1 Fire Training grounds.  During the training, there will likely be large flames and thick smoke produced. Barr Lake Appreciation Day - July 15

Barr Lake State Park will host Lake Appreciation Day from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. The park encourages residents to bring family, friends, groups, and co-workers for volunteer clean-up projects from 8–11 a.m., with a barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by fun activities, including canoe instruction, archery demonstrations, face painting, a jumping castle, boat rides, climbing wall, and more. The state park entry fee is waived for participating volunteers, and RSVP is required.
