County Granted Spaceport License

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted a site operator license to Adams County after a 180-day review period, the 11th such license granted in the United States. The formal announcement and news conference are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, August 20, at the Government Center in Brighton. 

Master Gardener Fall Classes

The Adams County Colorado Master Gardener program is accepting applications for Fall 2018 night classes. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at Crescent Grange, 7901 W. 120th Ave., Broomfield, from Sept. 18–Nov. 29. Applicants must go through an interview process and background check, so don’t delay!

17th Judicial District Attorney’s Citizens Academy

The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is proud to offer a Citizens Academy to the public each year. The 2018 academy will begin Thursday, Sept. 27 and will be held for eight weeks through Nov. 15, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office at 1000 Judicial Center Drive in Brighton.

Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training at Commerce City Refinery

NOTICE: On Thursday, Aug. 9, the Suncor ERT will conduct live fire training at the Plant 1 Fire Training grounds. The training will begin around 8 a.m. and will last throughout the day. During the training, there will be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all ERT training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded.

Jodie Kammerzell Named Administrator of the Workforce & Business Center

Jodie Kammerzell, formerly the Adams County Workforce & Business Center (WBC) manager, has been promoted to the position of administrator of WBC effective July 1, 2018.

“We’re pleased to promote Jodie to serve as our administrator in the Workforce & Business Center,” said Chris Kline, Adams County Human Services director. “She has managed a wide range of highly successful workforce development programs and has devoted her career to serving and enhancing the lives of those with the greatest disadvantages.”
