The Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution 2024-544 Establishing Holidays for 2025. The county will observe 12 holiday closures and employees will have an additional Floating Holiday. All government offices will be closed on the 12 noted holidays.
Volunteer at the Adams County Fair
The Adams County Fair is looking for volunteers for the 2019 event happening July 31 – Aug. 4. If you’re interested in volunteering, please download and complete the volunteer application and waiver. Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Sergeant First Class Will Lindsay
Tuesday, April 2, 2019 — Gov. Jared Polis today ordered the United States and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all state owned facilities from sunrise on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, until sunset on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in honor of the passing of U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Will Lindsay.
Lindsay’s body will return to Colorado Springs on April 3, and the unit memorial service will be held April 9.

Chris Kline Promoted to Deputy County Manager for People & Culture Services
Chris Kline has been promoted to Deputy County Manager for People & Culture Services at Adams County.
Kline started with the county in 2006 as the Administrator of the Workforce and Business Center. He was elevated to Director of Human Services in 2012 and played a critical role in rebuilding his department’s – and the county’s – culture. Kline also oversaw the 2017 opening of the Human Services Center building in Westminster, allowing employees to serve residents in a modern and centralized location.

Elections Department, Brighton High School Team up for Student Election
As part of the Voter Outreach Through Education (VOTE) Project, the Adams County Elections Department and Brighton High School teamed up for the school’s student council election in March.
County staff designed and prepared ballots for the school and supervised a Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) in the high school auditorium on Election Day.
Later that day, Student Government members came to the Elections facility to process their ballots.
Kristin Sullivan Named Director of Public Works Department
Kristin Sullivan has been named director of the Adams County Public Works Department.

Board of Commissioners Approves Temporary Moratorium on Oil and Gas Applications
At a special public hearing today, the Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution placing a temporary moratorium on new oil and gas facilities in unincorporated Adams County. The moratorium is effective immediately and will remain in place for six months or until further action by the Board.
The Board imposed the temporary moratorium due to Senate Bill 19-181 pending consideration in the Colorado General Assembly. The legislation changes the authority of local governments to regulate oil and gas development within their jurisdictions.
