Elections Department, Brighton High School Team up for Student Election

As part of the Voter Outreach Through Education (VOTE) Project, the Adams County Elections Department and Brighton High School teamed up for the school’s student council election in March.

County staff designed and prepared ballots for the school and supervised a Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) in the high school auditorium on Election Day.

Later that day, Student Government members came to the Elections facility to process their ballots.

“It’s so important for students—especially those so close to voting age—to experience what an election is like,” says Josh Zygielbaum, Adams County Clerk and Recorder. “The VOTE Project allows them to experience every step a voter and ballot go through and to get a first-hand look at the full elections process.”

Schools interested in participating in the VOTE Project should reach out to [email protected].
