County's Journey to Wellness Program Wins National Awards
The Adams County Journey to Wellness Program for employees has been recognized by two national health organizations.
The National Association for Business Resources named Adams County to its list of the Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness for 2017. This program honors companies and organizations that recognize and celebrate quality and excellence in employee and worksite health. The goal of the list is to celebrate companies that are making their businesses healthier, the lives of their employees better, and the community a healthier place to live.
Adams County has also been recognized as a Health Links Certified Healthy Business Leader due to the holistic approach to creating a culture of health and safety. Health Links is a signature program of the Center for Health, Work and Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health that recognizes organizations around the nation for their efforts in these areas. As a Certified Healthy Business Leader, Adams County has been recognized for holding managers and supervisors accountable for supporting health and safety, integrating health and safety efforts, and extending health and safety services to employees, spouses, domestic partners, dependents, and the greater community.
“These awards reflect the positive influence the Journey to Wellness Program has had on the lives of Adams County employees,” said Health Coach and Wellness Program Coordinator Jessy Cutting. “The program will continue to evolve and improve so we can have an even greater impact on the health and wellbeing of our employees, spouses, and dependents.”
The Adams County Journey to Wellness Program is a voluntary program available to all employees. The program is administered in accordance with federal laws that permit employer-sponsored wellness programs that seek to improve employee health or prevent disease. These laws include the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
