Governor Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Yuma Firefighter Darcy Stallings
DENVER - Governor Jared Polis today ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in honor of Yuma Fire Department Firefighter Darcy Stallings, who passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Funeral services for Firefighter Stallings will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in Yuma.
Board Approves 2022 Holiday Schedule
The Board of County Commissioners passed Resolution 2021-573 Establishing Holidays for 2022. The county will observe 12 holiday closures and employees will have an additional Floating Holiday.
Adams County and Denver Botanic Gardens Sign Letter of Intent
Adams County and Denver Botanic Gardens (the Gardens) signed a non-binding letter of intent today to establish a formal partnership to work together to develop an expansion of Denver Botanic Gardens management and programming in Adams County. The Gardens is a Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) Tier I organization.

Board of Commissioners to Withdraw from Tri-County Health Department
The Adams County Board of Commissioners intends to bring forward a resolution at the Tuesday, Oct. 26, 9:30 a.m., public hearing to provide notice of Adams County’s decision to leave Tri-County Health Department (TCHD).
Per its legal obligation, Adams County will remain a part of TCHD through December 2022. Starting January 2023, Adams County will have its own health department structure in place. There will be no disruption of services to Adams County residents during this transition.

Governor Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Former Secretary of State Natalie Meyer
DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis has ordered all flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings and properties, from sunrise through sunset on Monday, Oct. 18, to honor the life of Natalie Meyer, former Colorado Secretary of State. Meyer served as Secretary of State from 1983 until 1995. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, Oct. 18, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado.
Floodplain Management Program Receives Upgraded Rating Resulting in Discounted Insurance Rates for Residents
As a result of the five-year verification and review cycle through the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 2020, the Adams County Floodplain Management program was upgraded from a Class 9 rating to Class 8, allowing residents and businesses to receive a 10% discount on flood insurance.
