Beginning Monday, Jan. 9 at 8 a.m., 96th Avenue will be closed between Tower Road and E-470 due to Commerce City's Tower Road widening project. The area will be reopened no later than Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m.
During the closure, the following detours are available:
Southbound E-470 drivers can exit at 104th Avenue and go west to Tower Road, then turn south on Tower Road to 96th.
Northbound E-470 drivers can exit to westbound Pena Boulevard to reach northbound Tower Road, then go west on 88th Avenue, and north on Buckley Road to 96th.
The Tower Road widening project will expand the road from two to four lanes between 80th and 103rd avenues.
Temporary Water Use Restriction Issued for Clear Creek
Effective Monday, June 12, 2017, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Shrader and the Golden Police Department will limit waterway activities on Clear Creek. These temporary restrictions apply to Clear Creek in unincorporated Jefferson County, as well as those portions of Clear Creek within the City of Golden, including Vanover Park.

Aircraft Goes Down Near Bennett
On Thursday, June 8, at approximately 1:40 p.m., a Ballanca Super Viking aircraft went down in a field northeast of the Front Range Airport. The Bennett Fire Department responded and reported there were no fatalities, but the pilot and one passenger were taken away by ambulance and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
The aircraft is based at the Front Range Airport. The cause of the incident is unknown at this time. The National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Special Warfare Operator Petty Officer 1st Class Remington J. Peters
Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday, June 9, 2017, in honor of Special Warfare Operator Petty Officer 1st Class Remington J. Peters, a Grand Junction, Colo. native.

Three Adams County initiatives have been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that enhance services for residents.

Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered Monday to Observe Memorial Day
Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings statewide on Monday, May 29, in recognition of Memorial Day, and as proclaimed by President Donald J. Trump. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to noon.
More Than $1 Million in Scholarships Awarded to County Students
Sixty-four Adams County high school students were awarded scholarships totaling more than $1 million on Wednesday, May 24, through the Adams County Scholarship Fund. Adams County Commissioners introduced the Scholarship Fund in 2016 in partnership with the Colorado Department of Higher Education's Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative.
