The Adams County Recording Department now accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State for any U.S. citizen. Services include processing passport applications and taking passport photos.
“I’m incredibly proud to be adding to the long list of services my office provides to Adams County residents,” says Adams County Clerk & Recorder Josh Zygielbaum. “The new passport services allow us to continue that tradition and to serve beyond the county.”
These services are available at the Adams County Government Center, 4430 S. Adams County Pkwy. Suite E2400, Brighton, CO 80601.
In addition to the passport fee payable to the Department of State, there is a $35 application processing fee. Passport photos are $10.
Appointments are required, and each person in a party will need a separate appointment. To learn more about these services, visit adcogov.org/passports.
Adams County Commissioners Award $800,000 in Community Enrichment Grants
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) awarded $800,000 in Community Enrichment Grants to 31 nonprofit organizations working in the county. These grants support programs to assist county residents with their basic needs and to help them become self-sufficient.

As Adams County reports its first human case of West Nile Virus during the 2024 season, the Adams County Health Department (ACHD) wants to keep you and your family safe.
August and September are traditionally the two months with the highest number of people catching West Nile Virus from bites of infected mosquitoes. In 2023, Colorado had 634 reported human cases, including 45 in Adams County. Colorado had 51 deaths in 2023.

Adams County Commissioners Award More Than $21 Million in Open Space Grants
On Tuesday, July 9, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) awarded more than $21 million in open space grants for 24 projects thanks to the voter-approved Open Space Sales Tax. Funding for the spring 2024 grant cycle came from revenues from the second half of the 2023 Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, which was passed by Adams County voters in 1999, and in perpetuity in 2020.

Fifty-seven Adams County high school students were awarded scholarships totaling more than $1 million on Wednesday, June 26, through the Adams County Scholarship Fund.
