NOTICE: Suncor will conduct Fire Extinguisher Training on Monday, May 13, at the Suncor Fire Training Center from 1 - 3 p.m. The training will be performed at the Plant 1 Fire Training Grounds. During the training sessions there will likely be flames and smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded. Board of Commissioners Vote to Approve Oil and Gas Regulations
The Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 at public hearing today (September 3, 2019) to adopt a new set of regulations for oil and gas facility development in unincorporated Adams County. The new regulations include the process for applying for an oil and gas facility permit as well as significant regulations regarding safety requirements and environmental standards for operation of facilities.
CDOT - I/76/I-25 Travel Advisory
The eastbound I-76 ramp to northbound I-25 will be closed during overnight hours for three nights after Labor Day weekend. The closure will be in place 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 while crews apply polyester concrete overlays to strengthen and protect the deck, and to maximize driver safety. The ramp will reopen by 5:30 a.m. each morning.

Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Gunnery Sergeant Koppenhafer
DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis ordered the United States and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, to honor Gunnery Sergeant Scott A. Koppenhafer of Mancos, Colorado.
Koppenhafer died on Aug. 10, 2019 in Iraq after suffering fatal wounds while supporting Iraqi Security Forces. He was assigned to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019.

Local Boy to be Sworn in as Honorary Adams County Deputy – Aug. 19
You are invited to join the Adams County Sheriff’s Office as they swear in honorary deputy Kaiden Ross. The nine-year-old was recently diagnosed with a rare type of kidney cancer that has spread to different parts of his body. The event will be held on Monday, Aug. 19, 5:30 p.m., in the Adams County Public Hearing Room, 4430 S. Adams County Pkwy., Brighton. If you can’t be there in support, the Sheriff’s Office is also raising money to help the family with medical costs. Donate here.
I-76/I-25 Travel Advisory
A single eastbound lane closure will be in place for 24 hours, from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, until 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. The closure location is from MP 5.63 to MP 5.73 at the I-76/I-25 interchange. This 24-hour lane closure is necessary so crews can repair concrete deck panels and make bridge improvements to maximize driver safety. CDOT anticipates medium travel impact to motorists traveling the affected route and some delays are expected. The project supports CDOT's new Whole System, Whole Safety initiative.
