The Adams County Animal Shelter is currently assisting with sheltering services for Brighton Animal Shelter while their location is impacted by construction in the area. All impounded and/or found animals will now be housed at 10705 Fulton St., Brighton. Adams County Seeks Public Input on Voter Service and Polling Center and 24-Hour Drop Box Locations for 2022 General Election
The Adams County Clerk & Recorder’s Office is seeking public input on Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) and 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box locations for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
“Allowing time for public comment on our voting centers is a key part of our process,” says Adams County Clerk & Recorder Josh Zygielbaum. “We want to ensure all registered voters in the county have access to a variety of locations to cast their ballots.”
Adams County to Provide Elections Materials in English and Spanish Beginning in 2022, per Voting Rights Act
As of the latest census data collected in 2020, Adams County now qualifies under Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to provide language assistance and election-related materials to voters in both English and Spanish.

Ameer Faquir Named Director of Facilities & Fleet Management
Ameer Faquir has been named Director of Facilities & Fleet Management. Faquir will begin Feb. 16.
“Ameer brings a wealth of knowledge on both the facilities side as well as the fleet management side,” said Alisha Reis, Interim County Manager. “His experience will help ensure we maintain safe, secure, and sustainable buildings for both our employees and our residents as the county continues to grow and more facilities and services come online.”
Kelly Weidenbach Named Director of Public Health Transition
Dr. Kelly Weidenbach has been named Director of Public Health Transition. Weidenbach will begin Feb. 28.
Lynn Baca Elected Chair of Board of Commissioners for 2022
Tuesday, Jan. 11, the Adams County Board of Commissioners unanimously elected Commissioner Lynn Baca as board chair for 2022. Baca was elected to the board in 2020 and is serving her first term representing District 5.
Design a New “I Voted” Sticker for the Elections Department
The Adams County Elections Department would like to have new, custom “I Voted” stickers for the upcoming 2022 elections and is seeking talented Adams County residents and students to design them.
Jeff Kloska Named Director of Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP)
Jeff Kloska has been named Director of Colorado Air and Space Port. Kloska will begin Monday, Jan. 10.
“Jeff has an extensive background in aviation and business management, which makes him an excellent choice for this position,” said Alisha Reis, Interim County Manager. “There’s so much potential at Colorado Air and Space Port and we’re excited to have someone with Jeff’s experience help shape its future.”
