Travel Advisory - Colfax Avenue Intersections Improvements Project

As part of the Colfax Avenue Intersections Improvements project, crews will close the Colfax Avenue (US 40) ramps to northbound Interstate 225 starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, through Monday morning, Oct. 7. During the weekend, motorists will follow detours routes that add up to 5 minutes and a maximum of 2.75 miles to the commute.
During the ramp closures, motorists can use the following routes:
- Westbound detour – Friday, Oct. 4, 9 p.m. to Monday, October 7, 5 a.m.: Westbound Colfax traffic will be detoured onto northbound Fitzsimmons Parkway and use the 17th Place ramps to access I-225. This detour length is less than a half-mile.
- Eastbound detour – Friday, Oct. 4, 9 p.m. to Monday, October 7, 5 a.m.: Eastbound Colfax traffic can use Fitzsimmons Parkway and 17th Place ramps. Another alternate route directs motorists to northbound Chambers Road and I-70.
These operations are site-condition and weather dependent, and this schedule could change and include additional night shifts.
