Advancing Adams – A Trio of Long-Range Plans for the Community by the Community

Adams County is launching the first phase of engagement for the Advancing Adams planning process today. This process will result in a trio of long-range master planning documents – a Comprehensive Plan, a Transportation & Mobility Plan (TMP), and a Parks, Open Space & Trails Plan (POST). These plans will guide Adams County toward the vision of becoming the most innovative and inclusive county in America for all families and businesses for the next 10-20 years and beyond.

Adams County Buildings Closed in December to Combat COVID-19 Cases Across County

Due to the continually high number of COVID-19 cases in Adams County, all county buildings will be closed to the public during the month of December, with the exception of the following offices: Colorado Air and Space Port, Coroner, District Attorney, Human Services, Justice Center and Probation, Riverdale Animal Shelter, and Sheriff, who will continue to provide essential services.

Adams County Motor Vehicle Offices Closing Thursday, Nov. 19

Due to increased numbers of COVID-19, Adams County Motor Vehicle offices have been directly impacted and will close on Thursday, Nov. 19, until further notice. The offices will be unable to process transactions over the phone, via mail, or in-person during this time.

Adams County Moved to New Severe Risk Red Level on State’s Dial

Adams County was moved to the Severe Risk Red Level by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Tuesday, Nov. 17. The new restrictions will go into effect Friday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m., and will remain in effect until Friday, Dec. 18, at which time our numbers will be reviewed by CDPHE and further determinations will be made.

Suncor to Conduct Live Fire Training

The Suncor Fire Department will be conducting fire training daily from Tuesday, Nov. 3, to Friday, Nov. 6, from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. During the training there likely will be large flames and thick smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, Suncor will cease all training and sound the appropriate alarms.
