Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) awarded Adams County with a $110,000 grant for a new play yard at Ricardo Flores Magon Academy. Ricardo Flores Magon Academy is in the process of building a new school, scheduled to open in Fall 2020. Currently, the academy is operating at the site of Berkeley Gardens Elementary School, which was built in 1906 and is in need of significant repairs. The school will use GOCO funds for a play yard at the new building, which will serve the academy’s students as well as the community as a whole. Planned features include traditional playground equipment, a multi-purpose play field, a soccer pitch, a basketball court, nature play structures, and an outdoor classroom.

Adams County has appointed Jason Schultz as the new Director of Information Technology & Innovation (ITi). Schultz, a seasoned IT leader with more than 30 years of experience, has been instrumental in driving digital transformation, strategic planning, and operational excellence within the county’s ITi teams.
Previously serving as Interim Director and Deputy Director of ITi, Schultz spearheaded the development of the ITi department’s five-year strategic plan, which will transform the department into an IT service-delivery model that focuses on business and customer needs.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, as directed by President Biden, ordered flags to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset for 30 days, starting on the day of former President Carter’s passing, December 29, including a National Day of Mourning on January 9th, to honor the life and service of James Earl Carter, the 39th President of the United States.

Adams County Commissioners Award More Than $12 Million in Open Space Grants
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) awarded more than $12 million in open space grants for 21 projects thanks to the voter-approved Open Space Sales Tax. Funding for the fall 2024 grant cycle came from revenues from the first half of the 2024 Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, which was passed by Adams County voters in 1999, and in perpetuity in 2020.
