Adams County Festival Latino Returns Sunday, Sept. 15

Festival Latino

Adams County is proud to announce the return of Festival Latino on Sunday, Sept. 15, noon – 7 p.m., at Riverdale Regional Park. Experience a day filled with vibrant cultural celebrations, including live music, dance performances, art installations, and delicious Latino cuisine. This free, family-friendly event will showcase the rich heritage and diversity of Latino culture in the region.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural festival, this year’s event promises to be even more spectacular. Attendees will be treated to performances by popular local and regional acts, including Proyección MG, Chicano Heat, and Nexos. In addition to the musical entertainment, the festival will feature large-scale sculptural installations, interactive art experiences, and opportunities for reflection from seven world-class visual artists, local and regional to Colorado. 2024 Festival Latino artists are Cal Duran, Sasha Primo, Beto Mojardin, Jerry Jaramillo, Cihuah Collective, Sammiotzi, and Markus Puskar. The artists each explore cultural expression and heritage through their personal stories and experiences.

“Festival Latino is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the vibrant culture that is so integral to Adams County,” said Emma Pinter, Chair of the Board of County Commissioners. “This year, we’ve expanded our offerings to include more art, more performances, and more opportunities for families to connect and enjoy a day of celebration.”

Commissioner Lynn Baca had an integral role in establishing Festival Latino in 2023 and echoes those sentiments, emphasizing the importance of cultural events in fostering community unity. "We're excited to welcome our residents to Festival Latino again this year,” said Baca. “This festival demonstrates Adams County's commitment to our Hispanic/Latino residents, who make up 42 percent of our population. We are so honored to host this special event and highlight the Latino culture through music, art, food, and entertainment, and to end the day with a fireworks display."

In addition to the artistic and cultural offerings, the festival will also feature a variety of food vendors serving authentic Latino cuisine, ensuring festival-goers can enjoy a true taste of Latino culture. The day will conclude with a fireworks display at sunset, providing a fitting end to a day of celebration.
