Adams County Receives First Place IAFE Award for Pride Event

IAFE Pride Award

Adams County Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts is proud to announce it received the prestigious "Non-Fair Facility Usage Award 2022" for its first-ever Pride event. The award, presented by the International Association of Fairs and Expos (IAFE), recognizes successful events outside of the annual county fair.

“We are honored to accept an award celebrating an event that celebrates our LGBTQ+ community,” said Board of County Commissioner Emma Pinter. “The fact that this was our first ever Pride event makes the recognition even that much more meaningful. Creating a culture where residents feel valued and accepted is incredibly important to myself, and the Board of County Commissioners, and last year’s event was just the beginning of our efforts to ensure we create a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion throughout Adams County.”

“The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the county's employees and residents who came together to make the event a reality,” said Adams County Manager Noel Bernal. “The county is proud to support and celebrate its LGBTQ+ community and is committed to creating a more inclusive future for all residents.

Adams County Pride is returning to Riverdale Regional Park on Saturday, June 10. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. with free family-friendly entertainment including water activities, drag queens, community resources, and more.
