Adams County on Top of Job Growth in the U.S. in 2019
Adams County leads the nation in job growth, according to a recent report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Bureau gathered employment statistics from 355 of the largest U.S. counties from June 2018 to June 2019.
More than three quarters of those counties saw an employment increase, but none more than Adams County’s gain of 5.3%.
“Adams County consistently does well in job growth because of our quality of life and diverse economy,” says Steve O’Dorisio, Adams County Board of Commissioners Chair. “We focus on our people, work well with the private sector, and seek opportunities for the generations that follow us.”
The largest industry leading this push was the county’s natural resources and mining sector, with a growth of 1,000 workers. This industry is largely made up of oil and gas production. Because of the recent opening of the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Conference Center in Aurora, the leisure and hospitality industry also contributed to the growth.
