In light of the recent Firestone tragedy, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Great Western Oil & Gas Company are taking proactive measures to ensure public safety by shutting in and inspecting several oil and gas wells in the area.
To ensure the safety of Adams County residents, the Adams County Board of Commissioners is encouraging all operators within the county to immediately inspect vertical wells that are within 250 feet of occupied buildings to ensure they are safe and meet all industry operating requirements.
"The Board of Commissioners' primary responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of our residents is protected above all else," said Board Chair Eva Henry.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Directors of AEROTROPOLIS REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY, of the Counties of Adams, , the City of Aurora, will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at 4430 South Adams County Parkway, 5th Floor Conference Room, in Brighton, Colorado. Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings statewide until sunset on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, to honor the victims of the tragedy in Annapolis, MD, and as proclaimed by President Trump.
County Files Lawsuit Related to Airport Noise Monitoring
The Adams County Board of Commissioners filed a lawsuit today against the City and County of Denver (Denver). The legal action, filed in Jefferson County District Court, relates to noise monitoring as dictated by the original 1988 Intergovernmental Agreement between Adams County and Denver.

Adams County has partnered with OpenGov, the leader in government performance management, to further increase its effectiveness and accountability with the county budget. The county’s OpenGov portal is now live and includes budget data from the past few years.
2018 Adams County Fair Parade
Plans are underway for the 2018 Adams County Fair Parade, making its return to kick off the 114th Adams County Fair (Aug. 1-5). The parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 9:30 a.m., on Main Street in Historic Downtown Brighton.

Asphalt Removal and Street Repaving During the Week of June 25

Gov. Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Engineer Aaron Lybarger
Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, June 24, 2018, in honor of West Metro Fire Protection District Engineer Aaron Lybarger.
Lybarger, 47, served with the West Metro Fire Protection District since 1992. He died on June 2, 2018, of esophageal and stomach cancer caused by on-the-job exposures. Lybarger is survived by wife Andrea, daughters Amanda and Anna Belle, his parents Barbara and Glenn, and brother Eric. Funeral services will be held privately at the family’s request.
