Sustainable Adams County and the City of Thornton are hosting a free paint drop-off event for local households and businesses on Saturday, Oct. 15, 9 a.m.- 1 pm., at the Adams County Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton. Citizens may bring most types of paint, stain and varnish. Businesses that generate less than 220 pounds (20-30 gallons) of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex or oil-based paint, and businesses that generate more than 200 pounds of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex paint, but oil-based paint will not be accepted. Upcoming Neighborhood Cleanup Events
The Adams County Public Works Department will host its annual series of neighborhood cleanup events in the coming weeks. Residents are encouraged to bring yard waste and other debris to the locations below.
Restricted items include: chemicals of any kind (paint, auto, cleaning, etc.), appliances, electronics, and batteries.

Adams County Opens Applications for Private Activity Bonds
Nonprofit organizations, quasi-governmental agencies, and private businesses are now eligible to apply for Private Activity Bonds (PABs) to benefit unincorporated Adams County. Adams County can assign $6,009,763 as PABs to eligible projects, and the 2021 bonds must be expended by September 2024.

Tri-County Health Department Issues Public Health Order to Extend Guidance of the State’s COVID-19 Dial
On April 16, 2021, the COVID-19 Dial issued by Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will expire, and counties across Colorado can issue their own guidance for their citizens. On April 8, 2021, Tri-County Health Department’s Board of Health (BOH) authorized and directed the Executive Director of Tri-County Health Department (TCHD) to issue a Public Health Order for a simplified version of the Dial with the goal to continue to control and/or slow the spread of COVID-19.
