Governor Orders Flags Lowered for South Metro Firefighter Mike Freeman

Gov. Hickenlooper ordered flags lowered to half-staff on Friday, July 21, 2017, on all public buildings statewide in memory of South Metro Firefighter Engineer Mike Freeman. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset.

Freeman passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 16, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in late May of 2017. Freeman served with the South Metro Fire Rescue for more than 40 years, beginning his career with the Cherry Hills Village Fire Department in 1974. South Metro will be honoring Freeman with a memorial service on Friday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Denver First Church, 3800 E. Hampden Ave., Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113.
