The Adams County Colorado Master Gardener program is accepting applications for Fall 2018 night classes. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at Crescent Grange, 7901 W. 120th Ave., Broomfield, from Sept. 18–Nov. 29. Contact the Colorado State University Extension office in Adams County at 303.637.8100 or email Cassey Anderson for more information or an application. The deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 24. Applicants must go through an interview process and background check, so don’t delay! There is also a non-volunteer option for a higher course fee.
Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Passing of Central Conejos County Firefighter & Fire Board Member Harold Joe Cordova
Governor Jared Polis today ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday, May 6, 2022, in honor of longtime Conejos County Fire Board member and the longest-serving firefighter with the Central Conejos County Fire Protection District, Harold Joe Cordova. Harold Joe Cordova was 83 years old and is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Free Tree Debris Drop-Off
Monday, May 9, through Sunday, May 15, 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton
Debris will be chipped on site and offered to residents as landscape mulch. Signs will direct residents to the drop-off site. This service is available to residents and may not be used by commercial landscapers or businesses.
County Requests Public Input on Advancing Adams Draft Plans
Adams County is requesting public input on a draft of the Comprehensive Plan; Transportation Master Plan; and Parks, Open Space, and Trails Plan at a series of public open houses and virtual meetings in May. These plans, collectively known as Advancing Adams, will guide Adams County toward its vision of becoming the most innovative and inclusive county in America for all families and businesses for the next 10-20 years and beyond.
Adams County Awards $35 Million in Grants to Local Community Organizations
On Tuesday, April 26, the Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution awarding $35 million in grants to local organizations, nonprofits, school and fire districts, and businesses. The funding for the grants was provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
County Opens Voluntary Business Registration Program
Adams County announces the debut of its new online Business Registration program that allows businesses to sign up to receive updates on county resources and other relevant news. The registration is voluntary and open to all businesses located within Adams County to use immediately.
Adams County Sheriff Implements Level 2 Fire Ban
Update: As of May 3, 2022, all burning restrictions are lifted.
Effective at noon April 21, 2022, Adams County Sheriff Richard Reigenborn enacted a Level 2 Fire Ban for Adams County. This temporary Level 2 Fire Ban supersedes all previous fire restrictions and bans.

- Sky lanterns
- Chimineas
- Fireworks
- Trash burns

Solar co-op launches for unincorporated Adams County, Northglenn, and Westminster residents to go solar together
Adams County, CO – Adams County and the Cities of Northglenn and Westminster announce a regional collaboration with the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors (SUN) to launch the Adams County Solar Co-op to help area residents go solar to help achieve local climate and energy goals.
Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff beginning immediately and to return to full staff at sunset on Sunday, March 27, 2022 to honor the life and legacy of former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, as proclaimed by President Biden.
Recruitment Underway for Next County Manager
Adams County has started the recruitment process for the next County Manager. The position was posted last week. Interviews are scheduled to take place in May, with the goal of hiring a candidate by this summer. The county is working with recruiting firm GovHR USA.
Clerk & Recorder’s Office Announces Winners of Design Contest
The Adams County Elections Department received many entries for the 2022 “I Voted” sticker design contest. Two designs were selected as the grand prize winner and second place winner, and one design was chosen as the winner of the Spanish category.
