Colorado Air and Space Port, PD AeroSpace Sign Letter of Intent

By signing a letter of intent, Adams County’s Colorado Air and Space Port and Japanese-based PD AeroSpace, LTD., have established a formal relationship. In this arrangement, the two will work together to explore the possibilities of the development and expansion of PD AeroSpace, LTD.’s commercial activities at the Colorado Air and Space Port. 

Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Former Colorado Legislator Don Sandoval

DENVER — Tuesday, April 16, 2019 — Gov. Jared Polis today ordered the United States and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, to honor former Colorado State Senator Don Sandoval.

Sandoval passed on April 7, 2019 in his Denver home. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Denver at 10:00 a.m.

Suncor to Conduct Fire Extinguisher Training

NOTICE: Suncor will conduct Fire Extinguisher Training on Friday, April 12, 1-4 p.m, at the Suncor Fire Training Center. The training will be performed at the Plant 1 Fire Training Grounds. During the training sessions there will likely be flames and smoke produced. In the event of an actual emergency, all training will cease and proper alarms will be sounded.

CDOT - New Project Announcement

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor, ABCO Contracting of Denver, will begin repairing 12 bridges at the I-25/I-76 and I-25/I-70 interchanges on April 14. This repair project is designed to improve the structural integrity of the bridges at two of the state’s busiest interstate interchanges, maximize driver safety, and upgrade the city’s infrastructure to support economic growth.

Blizzard Warning

 View this video to see what county roads looked like during our last blizzard. It was just a few weeks ago when blizzard conditions left hundeds of cars and drivers stranded on Adams County roads. Please pay special attention to the forecast this time around, especially if you plan to travel on county roads east of Sable Blvd. These roads are exposed to high winds and are likely to look a lot like the images from a few weeks ago. Please be safe and help our crews keep the roads clear.

Colorado Air and Space Port

As the 35th Space Symposium continues this week in Colorado Springs, there is plenty of buzz surrounding America’s newest spaceport, Colorado Air and Space Port. Director Dave Ruppel is meeting with industry leaders and aerospace experts at the exhibit hall this week following an on-site discussion and tour of operations at Mojave Air and Space Port last week.

Rabies, canine distemper cases prompt warnings from Colorado Parks and Wildlife

DENVER - After seeing cases of rabies in skunks out of Larimer County and canine distemper from raccoons in Adams County, Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds residents of the importance to get their pets vaccinated and to always avoid touching any wildlife.

In Larimer County, a large number of skunks did not head into their dens for the winter and the cases seen from those that had contact with dogs were positive for rabies. Larimer County officials have seen more than a dozen positive rabies cases this year.

Central 70 Project - Upcoming Closures

April 5, 2019 - Beginning tonight at 8 p.m., Peoria Street will close underneath I-70. The road will reopen at 9 a.m. and stay open during the day. It will close again on Saturday, April 6 from 8 p.m.-9 a.m. Construction crews will be setting bridge beams on the newly widened portions of the I-70 bridge over Peoria Street.
